Today during nap time I decided to take a practice math test before going in to take the real one required of all potential teachers in Washington state.
My brain. Wouldn't.
The first two questions took me almost 45 minutes.
Until I realized they just wanted a simple ratio, and that the dot meant to multiply.
No need for all my complicated, panicked formulas. No need to Google obscure math symbols.
Not exactly confidence building.

SO know how that feels. -_- But at least you practiced and you figured out your mistake. So you won't do that in the real thing!

Always a good idea to take a practice exam. I am glad I do not have to take it. Some of my school learning has faded away, I am afraid. The only reason I remember the dot is that I have seen my children struggle with the same thing!

They honestly should just keep it simple. The dot is nice and all, but why not stay with the nice dependable X? I think they want to pull the wool over our eyes.

I feel math anxiety creeping up my neck…..

So true. Why so many symbols for the same thing?
