Alarm does its thing
5:00:01
Me: Dear God, I know I already slept in an hour or two longer than I should have, and I know that I say this every morning, and I know your answer is always the same, but do I really have to get out of bed?
God: Rolls His omniscient eyes
Me: Technically I could sleep for another hour and go to work in my pj’s. You know I could. You also know that I will be miserable and running behind for the rest of the entire day and I won’t get any exercise in and that I will probably want to shoot myself in some fatal place by the end of the day and that even though I also know this, you know that I probably will–just turn the thing off and reset it for six. You know I will. So help me out here. Just this once, and I’ll never ask this question again.
My entire abdominal region: Sudden gut-wrenching, searing cramp.
Me: Okay! I’m up! I’m up!
Cramps: Gone.
I didn’t bother to argue about whether or not to get on the treadmill.
Yeesh.

Well that was a quick answer!

And that was a quick comment! I have the universe at attention today, I guess! I quit running a couple months ago to see if that would help my liver problems.I made a lot of other changes too, and I’m getting a lot better–my hair is coming back, and the itching is so much better I can ignore it for the most part–so I’ve been meaning to ease back into running for at least a month now and just see if it goes okay, but MAN it is hard to get started again!

…already slept and hour or two longer than I should have…—by 5am? What time do you go to bed at night?
May 23rd, 2011 at 8:43 am
EARLY! I’m pretty much useless after 8pm, no matter what time I get up, so I try to be asleep by 9 at the latest. I don’t usually get up before five, but the next two weeks are going to be insane, and I planned on getting up by four at the latest to fit things in. Hah. It all sounds so easy when I’m setting my alarm the night before!

humm. If I tried getting up that early I’d be getting up before I went to bed…My teenagers roam f o r e v e r at night. Good luch the next two weeks!

Did they ever figure out exactly what it was? Do you think you jiggled your liver too much with the running and caused problems? Maybe if you want to start back running you should put some kind of brace on.

No–the problem with intense exercise regimens when you have liver problems is that the breakdown of muscle is just one more thing your liver has to process. For a while there I couldn’t eat any kind of sugar (even in fruit)or fat or processed anything. It would just kill me. But I’m doing really well right now. Knock on wood.

apparently I didn’t get enough sleep – my fingers aren’t working. Good LUCK the next two weeks.
